It is pragmatism rather than philosophy that has turned the Covenant towards medieval arms and armours. Raw metal is easier to get hold of than highly processed impact distribution plates, and chainmail is in many ways just as effective against the undead as any other armour. This is a skirt of uncoloured copper, made of loose links knitted together in such a way as to protect against claws, fangs and swords whilst still allowing a reasonable degree of movement for the wearer.
