Looks like

This is a book of ways in which a great swordsmith could enhance the blades that they forge. Useful information, no doubt.

Tinkering Pattern: Keen Edge

This pattern shows how to sharpen the edge of any blade so that it takes on an unusual, and long lasting, keenness. Unlike regular sharpening, this pattern requires the sacrifice of a whetstone to achieve its unusual longevity.

It looks like the basic application of this would be of quite low quality.

You would need to tinker with an object to apply this pattern.

This pattern requires the following consumeables:

whetstone: At least quite bad quality, and made of a material with at least very low durability

Tinkering Pattern: Filed Point

This pattern shows how to file the point of any blade so that it forms an unusually precise point. The technique is very intensive and leaves the file used to performing the modification useless.
