Patch 1.1.0

Patch 1.1.0 is now being applied! It’s been a long, long time coming and I apologise for that. But, hopefully the next few patches should come a fair bit more rapidly. I’ll be looking to do a small(ish) maintenance patch in the next few weeks (very early May) and another one at the end May. Then, for the first time in about two years I’ll actually have a proper, extended holiday and I’ll be able to sink quite a lot of time into the game.

A lot has changed in 1.1.0 – as is usual, I’ve taken a backup of the live game at the point of the patch, and I’ll be keeping a wary eye on anything that seems to go horribly wrong. Some of the changes are deep in the bone and I won’t know until they’re patched over to the live game whether anything horrible is going to happen. So don’t worry if it does, we can rebuild you. We have the technology.

The game will be blocked off for a little bit while I check some of the more obvious places it could go wrong. Give it ten/fifteen minutes after the reboot and you should be able to log on again.

P.S.  Some of the paths to the auto-generated clothes have been unavoidably changed.  Don’t worry when they don’t clone, other clothes in the game should be fine.  If you lose a pile of clothes, grab a creator who can give you <some money> to make up for the loss.  Or replace individual items if you really want them back.

    Alright, so, a few hours in now… It looks good, overall. The interaction system is a bit rough, and is probably the biggest source of frustration. However, having scavenging back up more than makes up for it. The rebalancing of things is a bit scary, and it’ll take getting used to. So, thanks for all the hard work, and hopefully we can get these new bugs fixed soon.
